Re: Unable to add shortcuts to desktop from 3rd party apps
OK, bad news. when testing with an emulator, here is the message I got from the android framework in the log: ActivityManager: Broadcast com.android.launcher.action.INSTALL_SHORTCUT no longer supported. It will not be delivered. This explicitly means that apps willing to create shortcuts this way ar...

Re: Unable to add shortcuts to desktop from 3rd party apps
It seems the issue also depends on chrome versions: I just checked on my testing oreo device, and the option to add a bookmark on the desktop is gone, so I can't even have a bookmark on my home screen neither :-( Yes, a generic url shortcut would be the solution, although it may not always work as e...

Re: Setup
Oh sorry, that's probably me making experiments with notifications, I registered a new user with about the same name only to mention myself and test web push notifications.

How to use this forum
At the moment, the preferred way to use the community forum is through a web browser. The site is now using web push notifications, as a result you should be able to receive notifications even when the site is not open in your browser, including on Android mobile devices. Make sure that your browser...

Re: Gestures on Panel
To tell the truth, I don't remember why this is not enabled on panels nor folders (more generally sub containers). I think there's an important issue, but I will have a closer look at this.

Re: Congratulations on creating this new community
@PrasadKaladi you should now be able to activate web notifications. On Android at least Chrome and Firefox are working, on desktop all browsers should work too.

Re: Congratulations on creating this new community
Thanks @PrasadKaladi !
Sure, it will take some time to switch, as a forum is really different from G+, but in the end I think this is worth the effort.
I'll look at how to enable notifications. There is certainly several ways to achieve this (I hope). I'll have a look at this tomorrow.

Re: Unable to add shortcuts to desktop from 3rd party apps
I'm not quite sure that this is an API change, I would rather think at a security measure, but TBH I didn't check yet. Anyway this style of creating shortcuts is becoming deprecated. I think it won't live long.

Perfect, I like it. Also I prefer to see the previous posts above. And if needed it is always possible to switch to the standard behavior.

Problem fixed @F43nd1r
Indeed, the mention plugin used a regexp which wasn't including digits. I patched it and it works, you may have to do a full reload of the page to clear the browser cache.

Ok. This is also possible to modify forum permissions to allow posting for new users. This is what I did at the beginning (except for tutorials).

Re: Setup
The "new member post limit" is currently set to 3, but if possible I would prefer that new users can create topics as soon as they register. The reason is that if someone register to get some help, he/she needs to create a topic. I agree with you, lets start with the first approach and see how it go...

Setup
Upon install, phpBB comes with a few default groups (three of them are user groups) and a default set of roles. Additionally, the OneAll extension (to allow social login) adds a fourth user group. How should we setup groups and permissions? The less we have, the simpler it is. I'm pretty sure that t...

Work in progress
As per suggestion from F43nd1r:
- user mentions: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... _mentions/
- browser notifications (working with e.g. mobile chrome): https://senky.github.io/pushnotifications/ this isn't free though, so maybe alternatively https://github.com/lavigor/notifications?

This is the place to suggest a plugin for phpBB. Please explain your motivation and link to the extension.
Special care will be taken when installing extensions as it can be potentially harmful. Should an extension be accepted, please allow some time to do it.

Suggest a style
PhpBB appearance can be customized through styles. A few of them have been installed already but if you wish a particular one, this is the right place to ask. But... I won't install every existing style. Firstly I don't have the time nor the storage space to fulfill every request, secondly I will on...

(originally posted here : https://plus.google.com/112252356715774925798/posts/2awWGmgKzTC) This beta version introduces experimental support for nested scrolling in panels. A new place for the Lightning Launcher Community
With the scheduled shutdown of Google+ in 2019, it has became needed to relocate the user community elsewhere. It has been fun, but everything is evolving. Let's use this opportunity to make things even better! PhpBB has been selected for it's flexibility, great set of features and independence. The...
