How to show Notification count for selected Apps?

Post by friendly424234 » Sun Jun 16, 2019 9:48 am

I want, that there is a Notification Count like in every other launchers.
For example the number of WhatsApp Messages.
I've read that I can use badges from multiTool, but they are shown as a 0 when there is no notification. I want that they aren't show when there is no notification.
How?

Thanks. This should work.
But is it also possible to get the counter like it is on a normal launcher?
As a round circle in red, with a white number in it?

getting it circles a bit of a chew you would need to use a circle png and set it as the badge background or find an icon pack that has 1 you can use. I have a video here that might help customizing a badge. I make a square badge from scratch (no multitool) but the end result is the same just ignore the badge creation bit and jump straight to customization. Its a really old video but it should be helpful.

i just made a quick red circle icon (attached) long press the badge make sure show icon is enabled and set the background image to this circle then change the label position to center should look something like this just red instead of black its been years since i've used a standard launcher but IIRC this is basically what a badge looked like.

tip: you should be able to tint the color of the circle image using the colorize option.

Thanks for that. But I think that the red circle then is shown every time. Or am I false?

yep it dissapears with the text just tried it btw i just remembered if you set the icon picker to Application and Android there's some decent images in the system that you can use to quickly make badges check it out red circle right there no image file needed only downside to this is the resolution but for anything smallish like say action bar background or icons it should do nicely
